I WON A DSLR!!!! its not a D80, but oh wel, it's still a DSLR, and it's a Nikon
Im still tryin to adjust to the fact that I now own a DSLR.. lol hamdullah and mashaAllah. Thank God.
Everythin I believed in getting, I got. The Law of Attraction people.. My story is now another proof of it.. I wanted a certain amount of money by june, and i got the same amount end of May.. I wanted a DSLR, I got one, without paying a penny.. I wanted to make an outstanding artistic achievement, and there you go. It's not international, but it was all over the newspapers in KSA (workin on gettin them lol).
I only paid 100 riyals (~30$) to participate in the competition, and wat a gr8 investment it was!

For the first time, I'm travelling with a DSLR, and I cant begin to explain how excited I am!! Im definitely buying another memory card and a battery, coz ima get busy! lol

Im still thinking of a name for it.. Yes I name everything that is dear to me. My plant is called "Orchid", and my ipod "Lithium Incorporated."

SECOND PLACE BABY, YEAAAAAAAH!!!

Story cut short- Last semester, a photography competition was taking place in my college, with the theme "We Are All Responsible"= social responsibility. I submitted 2 photos, and one of them was [link]

So yea, that one was in the top 3 in the Student/Alumni category and the other one was in the exhibition (I will be uploading it later)
It turned out that it was bigger than I thought it would be. It was a ROYAL Art Exhibition O_o The prince was there, and there was media coverage. Invites only. Big BIG deal!

Did I see it coming when they told me I was in the top 3? HELLZ NO! It was a wonderful surprise! The way I found out is a fun story, but like i said *story cut short*

They announced the winners this evening, and my sis came along coz other family members couldn't/didn't want to come... Anyways, I was one of the ones that got interviewed by an ART (the letters, not the word ) channel called IQRA'A they said theyd lemme kno when they'll air the interview.

What did I win? money and a trophy, and im really not sure, maybe a camera as well :s The dude's voice was hardly audible so the only thing i heard clearly was "2nd place" and the cash award lol, Im really not sure if theres a camera. Guess we'll find out later when they give me my award.
MashaAllah and hamdulah. Thank God...

How does it feel? Since its forbidden for girls to receive awards from most royalty, i didnt really feel the "I WON" experience, until I sent txt msgs 2 friends and they all started congratulating me Then my sis and I danced around the appartment when we got home

Wheres the money going? It depends on whether the award includes a cam or not. If it doesnt, then the money is definitely gona b added to the little money ive been saving to buy a Nikon D80... inshaAllah...

Well, Im sorry to inform you all that my subscription ended and I cant renew it from Saudi Arabia, UAE, nor Egypt... My bro asked his friend to do it from Canada, and I aint got no friends in Canada, nor plan to spend my money on a subscription... Call me a communist like my mother does... I dont care

Anyways, first of all, the book Im reading- "For One More Day". A truly amazing book. I bought it last thursday and I only have a few more chapters to go. What is it about? You've hit rock bottom, and the person who usually gets you out of the mud is gone, dead... What if one day, years after that person had died, you got to spend a day with them? A normal day, just like any other day... Normal conversations... you talk to them, they talk to you, nothing unusual... The book describes the day the character Chick Benetto- divorced and an outcast- spends with his dead mother..

Although there weren't any recent deaths,I felt that this was the perfect time to read this book... Im just in this mood where I want to read something *blue.* I just feel trapped. The icon in my Mood perfectly illustrates how I feel. I know for a fact that part of my torment is temporary, although its gona last a few months...until I have the money to get MY OWN laptop, and most importantly, MY OWN Nikon D80... It is a challenge indeed... balancing college work, freelance, and extracurricular activities (public speaking www.toastmasters.org). Who is the person behind my torment? It is a person I haven't talked to in 2 weeks now, and I dont intend to talk to them until they fuckin grow up and apologize, and I know for a fact that they wont, because they always believe they're right just because they're older... Before you "bless" me with your wise words, it is much deeper than an issue of laptop and camera.. I cant change how I feel bout that person, and I realized Im becoming more and more indifferent to the situation. And afterall, indifferent is way better than feelings of hate... Im not saying I feel no hate whatsoever.. I still feel it, but lets hope it fades into "0" with time..

Im usually a very forgiving person, but I tend to be 200% intolerant to some things..
Anyways, please dont get the impression that Im "going through hell." I have gr8 friends, gr8 extracurricular activities, and a gr8 mother and siblings that I dont think I can ever hate.

Hmm, enough generosity for now Winter just started in Jeddah It rained a bit yesterday and I ran out of the restaurant screaming "woohooo!" Yes, I stood under the rain And no you cant catch a cold because it was so humid. It rained again at night but I was sleeping Oh well, let's hope it rains again today!
